Pye Family
Danny and Leann Pye first started Haitian Children's Home in 2006. They are the proud parents of 22 children, 21 Haitian boys and girls and 1 biological daughter, Riann. Their family lives in Jacmel, Haiti.

Berline
Berline is 17 years old and is in 9th grade. Berline is an amazing young woman that loves to sew. She is such a great big sister and Christian role model for the younger girls in the home. She has aspirations of becoming a doctor when she finishes high school and her favorite subjects are French and physics. She loves to swim with Papa Danny and Mama Leann and her favorite color is sky blue. If she had her choice she would eat meat frites every day. Her favorite biblical character is Salomon and since she loves worship songs, you shouldn’t be surprised to hear that her favorite Bible verse is a Psalm – Psalm 139:5.
Blanca
Blanca is 15 years old and is in 7th grade. The first thing that you will notice about Blanca is her stunning smile. She has a beautifully unique personality and is the trend-setter in the home. She has aspirations of becoming an engineer when she finishes high school and her favorite subject is French. She loves to play with Papa Danny and Mama Leann and her favorite color is pink. Grilled goat, a Haitian classic, is her favorite food. Her favorite biblical character/story is Noah and the flood and she loves worship music. Her favorite bible verse is a classic – John 3:16.
Chachoue
Chachoue is 12 years old and is in 5th grade. Like all of our younger girls, we are shocked to see how quickly she is growing up. Chachoue is a sweet girl and loves to sing and dance with her friends. She and Diane are one of three pairs of biological siblings that we have living in the home. Like Blanca, Chachoue wants to be an engineer when she finishes high school and her favorite subject is French. If she had her choice, she would eat fried chicken every day. She loves to help Papa Danny and Mama Leann and her favorite colors are yellow and green. Her favorite person in the bible is Jesus and she loves the story of His unique birth. She loves to sing worship songs and her favorite Bible verse is Genesis 1:1.
Diane
Diane is 11 years old and is in 4th grade. Like her biological sister, Chachoue, Diane shares the same sweet spirit. She loves to serve at home by cleaning, cooking, and playing with the younger children. When she finishes high school she would like to be a nurse and enjoys studying English. If she had her choice, she would eat macaroni and cheese every day. She loves to play with Papa Danny and Mama Leann and her favorite colors are green and yellow. Her favorite person in the Bible is Jesus and she particularly likes the story where He turns water into wine. She loves to sing worship songs and her favorite Bible passage is Psalm 123.
Elinda
Elinda is 10 years old and is in 3rd grade. She is one of our most energetic children and is always on the move. She has a great sense of humor and can always be found laughing at something. She never does anything without giving it her whole heart and all her effort. When she finishes high school she would like to be a seamstress and her favorite subject is math. Her favorite food? An American staple – good old macaroni and cheese. She loves to help Papa Danny and Mama Leann and her favorite color is yellow. Her favorite person in the Bible is David and she loves the story of David and Goliath. She loves to sing worship songs and her favorite Bible verse is Exodus 14:14.
Evens
Evens is 15 years old and is in 7th grade. He and his brother Patrick are one of three pairs of biological siblings that live at the home. Evens is the practical joker in the house and loves to play pranks on his brothers and sisters. He is also extremely good natured when he finds himself the object of one of their practical jokes! He also loves to listen to music, particularly enjoying worship songs. When he finishes high school, he would like to be a soccer player and his favorite subject is math. If he had his choice, he would eat rice and chicken every day. He loves to play with Papa Danny and Mama Leann and his favorite color is white. His favorite person in the Bible is Jesus and he loves the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. His favorite Bible verse is John 3:16.
Loudrige
Loudrige is 15 years old and is in 5th grade. Loudrige embodies the term "Christian servant." She is always helping around the house cleaning. She also loves to cook American meals. When she finishes high school she wants to become a nurse and her favorite school subject is French. Her favorite food has a distinctly Haitian twist it’s fried goat and fettuccini alfredo. She loves to help Papa Danny and Mama Leann and her favorite colors are pink and yellow. She loves to listen to worship music and her favorite scripture is Psalm 118. Out of all the stories in the Bible, she likes the story of baby Moses in the basket.
Lovelie
Lovelie is 14 years old and is in 5th grade. Spend a few minutes with Lovelie and you will find that her name suits her well. Although she is growing up so quickly, we still see flashes of that little girl who likes to play hand games and sing and dance with her friends. When she finishes high school she would like to have a singing career and her favorite subjects in school are math, French and Creole. Her food preference is simple – rice and beans, please and her favorite colors are blue, yellow and pink. She loves to play with Papa Danny and Mama Leann and of course, sing worship songs. Her favorite person in the Bible is also a songwriter – David and of all the Psalms, she likes Psalm 100 the best. Her favorite Bible story is when Jesus calmed the sea.
Mackendy
Mackendy is 15 years old and is in 8th grade. He is part of three sets of biological siblings living at HCH. He and his twin brother, Mackenson, are both a part of our home. Mackendy is our handyman in training. If something is broken, he can fix it. He loves to work on any mechanical or electrical project. When he finishes high school, he would like to be a doctor and appropriately, his favorite subject is biology. And making his Mama Leann very proud, he says that he prefers vegetables to all other foods. His favorite color is grey and he loves hip-hop music. Of all the people in the Bible, Solomon is his favorite and he loves the story of Joshua. Psalm 34:8 is his favorite scripture.
Mackenson
Mackenson is 15 years old and is in 6th grade. He and his twin brother, Mackendy, live at HCH together. Mackenson is best known for being a great helper. He is always around waiting to lend an extra hand. When he finishes high school he would like to be an engineer and his favorite subject is geography. He prefers rice and steak to all other foods and his favorite colors are white and dark yellow. His favorite music is worship songs and he loves to talk with Papa Danny and Mama Leann. His favorite character in the Bible is Moses and he enjoys reading the story of Noah and the ark. His favorite Scripture is Exodus 14:14.
Magdaline
Magdaline is 13 years old and is in 3rd grade. Magdaline is a fun girl. She never does anything without a smile and great attitude. She loves to sing worship songs and dance as if she does not have a care in the world. When she finishes high school, she would like to be a seamstress and her favorite subject in school is math. Her preferred food is a Haitian classic – rice and beans and her favorite colors are green and yellow. She loves to help Papa Danny and Mama Leann and her favorite story in the Bible is David and Goliath. Her favorite passage of scripture is Psalm 100.
Nerry
Nerry is 14 years old and is in 7th grade. Nerry is an observer and loves to watch what is going on around him. He’s also full of surprises because when you least expect it, he will jump right in and join in the fun. He loves to work on his English and you will often see him carrying a notebook with him where he writes down English words and phrases that he wants to learn. When he finishes high school, he wants to be a doctor and his favorite subject is French. He also prefers to eat rice and meat and his favorite colors are yellow and green. He loves to talk with Papa Danny and Mama Leann. His favorite person in the Bible is John the Baptist he likes the story of Jesus’ baptism. His favorite Bible verse is Exodus 14:14 and he loves to sing worship songs.
Nesley
Nesley is 17 years old and is in 6th grade. Nesley is our politician. He always has an opinion and a comment for everything. He can say anything with a smile. When he finishes high school he would like to be an engineer and his favorite subjects in school are French and math. His favorite colors are black and red. Like most American teenagers, his favorite food is pizza. He loves to sing worship songs in English and he likes talking with Papa Danny and Mama Leann. His favorite Bible story is when Jacob fights with the Angel of God and his favorite scripture is Exodus 14:14.
Omega
Omega is 17 years old and is in 8th grade. Omega lives and breathes soccer. He is always kicking something around, whether it is a bottle cap, beach ball, or plastic bottle. He also loves to watch movies. When he finishes high school, he wants to be a doctor and his favorite subject in school is biology. He also prefers classic Haitian food – rice and beans and he loves to play with Papa Danny and Mama Leann. His favorite colors are green and white and he loves to sing worship songs. His favorite Bible story is the story of David and Goliath and his favorite scripture is Exodus 14:14.
Patrick
Patrick is 18 years old and is in 8th grade. Patrick is our artist and musician. He loves to draw and paint on everything. He is a talented drummer and plays the drums in the worship team at church. When he finishes high school, he wants to be both a mechanic and an artist. His favorite subject in school is biology. He likes to eat cornflakes and milk and his favorite color is black. He likes to listen to Konpa, a Haitian style of music. His favorite scripture is Psalm 23 and his favorite story in the Bible is of Pharaoh and Moses.
Rico
Rico is 14 years old and is in 2th grade. He recently came to live at HCH and had no access to schooling before moving in with us. Rico has a great smile and ‘no worries’ attitude with a great sense of humor. When he finishes high school he would like to be a doctor and his favorite subject is math. He likes to eat rice and his favorite color is blue. He prefers to listen to Gospel worship songs. He likes to go to the beach with Papa Danny and Mama Leann. His favorite Bible story is the story of Moses and the Israelites and his favorite Scripture is Ephesians 6:1.
Ticarlis
Ticarlis is 11 years old and is in 5th grade. Ticarlis loves being a little boy. He is always into something, both good and bad. He is curious to learn about everything. When he finishes high school, he would like to be a doctor and his favorite subject in school is Bible. He likes to eat rice and beans with sauce and his favorite color is blue. He prefers to listen to worship songs and likes to play with Papa Danny and Mama Leann. His favorite person in the Bible is Jesus, he loves the story of Noah and the ark and his favorite scripture is Exodus 14:14.
Tina
Tina is about 7 years old and is in 1st grade. Tina is a little mother. She loves to play and is very curious about everything. Most of all, she loves to be hugged and loved on. Before coming to live with us, she had no access to schooling or church. When she finishes high school, she wants to be a singer. Her favorite food are hot dogs and she loves the color yellow. She likes to sing worship songs but has never read the Bible before coming to HCH.
Toto
Toto is 11 years old and is in 4th grade. Although he is growing up quickly, Toto has the heart of a little boy. He loves to jump, run, and play all the time. When he finishes high school, he would like to be a policeman and his favorite subject is math. He likes to eat rice and beans and his favorite color is yellow. His favorite type of music is called Konpa which is a Haitian style of music. He loves to play with Papa Danny and Mama Leann and his favorite person in the Bible is Jesus. He loves the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 and his favorite scripture is Psalm 23.
Vania
Vania is 7 years old and is in 1st grade. Vania came to HCH in October 2007. She loves to play hide and seek, play with dolls, and draw. She's still a little unsure of herself and is emotionally fragile. Her favorite subject in school is art and she wants to be a seamstress when she finishes school. She prefers cornflakes and milk to eat and her favorite color is blue. She loves to listen to Gospel music but before coming to HCH she had never heard about or read the Bible before. She loves going to the beach with Papa Danny and Mama Leann and her favorite color is blue.
Woody
Woody is 13 years old and is in 5th grade. Woody is our comedian. He loves to make people smile and will go to great lengths to do it. When he finishes high school, he wants to be an engineer and his favorite subject is math. He also prefers rice and beans and his favorite color is black. He loves to swim with Papa Danny and Mama Leann and listen to Christian rap. His favorite person in the Bible is Jacob, his favorite scripture is John 3:16 and he likes the story of Cain and Abel best.
