Our Land
Haitian Children's Home is located on the beautiful southern coast of Haiti. The word beautiful is not a word you'd often hear to describe Haiti. More often you hear words like poverty, desperation, and hopelessness, for that is the reality for many in this nation--the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
Haitian Children's Home is a place where children who are orphaned, abandoned, or enslaved can find a home and a family. Different from the model of most orphanages, Haitian Children's Home is truly a family--with a mom and dad and brothers and sisters.
In June of 2008 we closed on this beautiful, 17 acre tract of land in Raymond, Haiti. We'll be celebrating this purchase and dedicating the land on July 18th, 2008. Later this summer, on August 17th, we'll be breaking ground on the first of two family homes we hope to build this year.
